Home safety is not about turning a loved one's house into a clinic. It is about noticing the small friction points that make daily life harder: a dim hallway, an unstable rug, a bathroom without support, or medications stored in three different places.

Start with the routes your loved one uses most often. Look at the path from bedroom to bathroom, kitchen to favorite chair, and front door to car. Clear walking paths, improve lighting, and keep frequently used items at waist height so reaching and bending are less risky.

The best changes are usually quiet ones. A shower chair, labeled medication organizer, easier footwear, and a consistent meal routine can make the home safer without making the person feel managed.
